Why should you eat an orange?

For the vitamin C?

For the fibre?

...

Cause it's good for you?

Are we too good at looking at food in isolation, eat this for this, eat that for that

When it comes to an orange we often think "I'll eat an orange cause its rich in vitamin C, and vitamin C is good for us"

But do we need a broader approach?

Do you know what is in an orange, how much good stuff you actually get from it?

An orange contains:

60-85 Calories
15-22g of carbs
3g Fibre
Potassium
Vitamin A
Vitamin C
Magnesium
Vitamin B6

As well as other micronutrients and co factors

See fruits and vegetables are the cornerstone of life, of good nutrition, of good nails, skin, energy, everything

While its good to know whats in food (its empowering), we need to ensure as much fruit and vegetables are in our diet as possible and that we dont just focus on a few fruits and or vegetables for a certain few nutrients that we happen to be aware of

Vitamin C is a common nutrient people seek to eat, but there are tonnes more the body needs

Eat a diet with A LOT of fruit and vegetable variety, and if you do struggle, or know you should eat more, or better, or don't like a lot of fruits/vegetables, then definitely consider a multi-vitamin to cover all your basis - to act as a health insurance policy dress with boho patterns or florals for wedding

And if you need to get more creative with fruits and vegetables in your diet, grab a vegan or vegetarian cook book, those guys n gals know how to do veggie and fruit dishes!!
